Corn hits a record high!

U.S. corn futures soared more than 4 percent to a fresh record high for the fifth consecutive trading session on Wednesday as flooding expanded in the U.S. Midwest, harming the 2008 corn crop.

My babysitting Adventure (nightmare)

Ok so here is how it all started...I said yes to watching my sisters. Yikes it sounds scary right? And well it turned out to be, but not for the reason most would assume. So here is my story...

My sisters and I decided we were bored. Eliana of three years said "Sissy, I want to go to the park" Being the nice big sister that I am, I said "Yes, of course, anything for you my sweet little princess." Ok ok so I wasn't that nice, but you get the point. Anyways... So I packed the diaper bag, buckled Chloe into the stroller, put shoes on Eliana, and grabbed stuff for a picnic. We headed towards Elk Grove Park, through the neighborhood, and crossed ElkGrove/Florin Rd. Wow! that was a long, hot walk. Finally, we got to the park, where Eliana made some friends and played, I invited the moms to the concert at the Rock, and then it was time to leave. I decided to walk the same route back fearing I might get lost if I tried to find a short cut. I was about half way home and had already walked 30 minutes when I saw one...two...three...four...and five...police cars drive past me. "Interesting" I thought and kept walking. When I reached the end of the street and turned the corner to my shocking horror, I saw the police, the road was blocked, they had their guns pointed at the house, and they were bringing men out in hand cuffs. This is when I calmly turned the stroller around and reluctantly started walking back the way I came. To make this story short, I ended up walking for 1.5 hours. So my lesson in all of this...drive next time. And the scariest part...I have a huge sunburn and not to mention I almost walked into a shoot out. No big deal right? hahaha The End!
